Request for Tender Beaconsfield BSP to Belmore Park: Feeder 90Y

Ausgrid invites the lodgement of Tenders in accordance with these Request for Tender (RFT) documents for the circuit design, manufacture, supply, installation and jointing of 132 kV XLPE cables and ancillary equipment.

The main route is shown in the drawings enclosed with this tender and is specified in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

The feeder route from Belmore Park ZS to Beaconsfield BSP is approximately 5.5 km in length and consists of three main cable sections.
Section 1: Belmore Park ZS to the shared section of the Metrogrid Tunnel, approx. 800 metres. This section utilises the City South Cable Tunnel (CSCT), Haymarket BSP basement and the Metrogrid Tunnel. This section of cable has already been installed as part of a separate project.
Section 2: Shared Tunnel to Sydney Park tunnel shaft, approx. 3,450 m. The second section runs from the shared section of the Metrogrid Tunnel to a proposed joint bay location, on land at the Sydney Park Tunnel shaft via the Metrogrid Cable Tunnel.
Section 3: Sydney Park Tunnel Shaft to Beaconsfield BSP, approx. 1200 m. The third section consists of approximately 60 m of new trench, one new joint bay and connection into approximately 1000 m of spare conduits and joint bays installed as part of a recently constructed project, feeder 9S4 from Sydney Park Tunnel Shaft joint bay to Beaconsfield BSP. Connection to the BSP is via the Burrows Rd Cable Tunnel.

A mandatory pre-tender meeting will be held over 2 days commencing at Ausgrid's Head Office Building Auditorium, 570 George St, Sydney, at 9 am, Wednesday 18 November 2015. The meeting will commence with a presentation followed by visits to Mary Ann St Tunnel Access Shaft, Haymarket BSP Basement and Belmore Park Zone Basement. Ausgrid expects this day to conclude at approximately 2.30 pm.

The second day, Thursday 19 November 2015, will commence at 9 am at Sydney Park Shaft, Corner of Euston and Sydney Park Rd, St. Peters. The meeting will consist of an inspection of the Sydney Park Shaft and Metrogrid tunnel, Walk along the cable route to Beaconsfield BSP Basement and an inspection of Beaconsfield. Ausgrid expects this day to conclude at approximately 12:30 pm.

A maximum of two representatives from each company can be accommodated; however, access down tunnel shafts and into the tunnels will be restricted to only one representative from each company. Prospective respondents must register their intention to attend the pre-tender meeting by emailing Marlon Murray: mmurray@ausgrid.com.au by 4.00 pm, Wednesday 11 November 2015.

All personnel attending the site must as a minimum be wearing arc rated long sleeves and long pants, safety footwear, a high visibility vest, safety eyewear, a safety helmet and must have gloves on their person.

The arc rated clothing must comply with minimum ATPV of 4 calories /km 2 and meet the requirements of the following standards ASTM F 1506 or IEC 61482-2 or NFPA 70E. Clothing meeting the requirement should be marked showing conformity to the relevant standard.
