Tender Description
The Lithgow Blast Furnace Park was Australia's first major iron and steel works and is listed on the State Heritage Register.
A Council commissioned safety and interpretation study in early 2014 identified a number of proposals for Council to improve public safety, access and interpretation of the site. Council then commissioned development of a Masterplan for the site. The Masterplan works are the subject of this EOI.
The scope of works generally comprises:
* Fencing and balustrades to detail
* Concrete, asphalt and gravel pathways at grade
* Raised steel mesh boardwalks to the Blast Furnace bases and Boiler house platforms
* Raised viewing platforms
* Pathway at grade to Coal Stage Hill
* Grilles over tunnels
* Low Gabion walls
* Carpark upgrade
Contractors are encouraged to attend a site meeting at 11am on Thursday 20 August 2015 at Blast Furnace, off Inch Street Lithgow.
