The project will require working with NMI senior management, with policy officers in the department, and with similar regulatory agencies, to assess how well legal metrology delivers against its current mission and where there may be opportunities to work more closely with similar regulatory agencies, and to identify the dimensions of legal metrology’s future mission to ensure the integrity and confidence of trade, retail and consumer activities in Australia as they relate to measurement.
The Department of Industry and Science invites suitably qualified consultants/contractors to submit a tender for a review of the scope, function and organising arrangements of legal metrology in Australia leading to recommendations for implementation.
