Healthdirect Australia is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to deliver on two separate stages:
1. To scope the need for, accessibility and feasibility of, making referrals from the healthdirect helpline to integrated primary care services that would provide an alternative to emergency department referrals from healthdirect telephone services. This would primarily relate to callers who require an urgent, timely clinical assessment or intervention by a primary care provided (e.g. nurse or allied health professional).
2. If findings confirm this is a viable proposal, once confirmed by Healthdirect Australia Work with Healthdirect Australia and nominated primary care staff to design a usable service model that supports the integration of the two services (healthdirect helpline and primary care services) including the referral and care options available to consumers.
