BT Connor Reserve Synthetic Pitch Installation

⁠⁠⁠Overview

The City of Darebin is seeking a contractor for the design finalisation and construction of a football (soccer) turf sports field at BT Connor Reserve.

Scope

The scope includes:

Design Finalisation for Construction

• Finalisation of design reference drawings, including verifying existing underground services such as drainage, irrigation, and utility services
• Design of pavement to reflect third-party site assessments
• Development of a project plan to agree on project outcomes
• Addressing specific site requests
• Methodology approval

Project Initiation and Control of Site

• Environment and site establishment
• Site compound establishment
• Site survey, including confirmation of sizes, layout and engineering considerations
• Establishment and approval of documented quality systems
• Approval of insurance and project compliance
• Project preliminaries

Demolition and/or Removal of Specified Elements

Demolition and disposal off-site of key components, including but not limited to:

• Stormwater drainage
• Irrigation
• Goal posts and associated footings
• Perimeter fence
• Coaches boxes

Earthworks and Landscaping Across Site (as detailed in SDG's Specification)

• Removal and disposal of existing growing medium (approximately 150mm depth)
• Removal and disposal of identified contaminated material
• Bulk earthworks
• Creation of a 30 year pavement to ensure the field of play achieves the performance standards during that period

Drainage, Irrigation and Water Harvesting (as detailed in SDG's Specification)

• Installation of a drainage solution under and surrounding the field of play, connected to the stormwater drainage network, to meet the 1 in 20 Year Annual Rain Intensity (ARI) event stipulated

Civil Engineering and Construction Works (as detailed in SDG's Specification)

• Final trimming and compaction of sub-grade to specified tolerances and/or level
• Construction of a pavement base for the performance surface that meets the performance standards identified for a minimum of 30 years

Performance Surface and Warranties

• Construction and installation of a synthetic sports surface system certified to FIFA Quality standard for football, plus additional performance requirements

Fencing and Netting

• Installation of spectator fencing around the field of play, including vehicle and pedestrian access gates and footings into a concrete plinth surrounding the field of play
• Installation of pedestrian footwear and vehicle tyre cleaning grates, as specified
• Installation of netting as specified, with footings
• Construction of a goal storage area

Ancillary Equipment

• Supply and installation of goals, posts and flags
• Supply and installation of coaches boxes and interchange furniture and fittings
