Mount Isa City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to purchase, collect, transport, process, recycle and/or beneficially reuse recoverable materials generated through its waste management operations.

About

Council operates waste management and resource recovery facilities that regularly receive recoverable materials from residential, commercial and operational waste streams.

Objectives

This engagement supports Council's objectives to:

• Maximise diversion of recoverable materials from landfill
• Improve resource recovery and recycling outcomes
• Develop sustainable end-market pathways
• Ensure environmentally responsible management of recovered materials
• Generate commercial value from recoverable resources
• Support local and regional circular economy initiatives

Scope

The scope includes:

• Purchase of recoverable materials generated through Council's waste management operations
• Collection of recoverable materials from Council's waste management and resource recovery facilities
• Transport of recoverable materials
• Processing of recoverable materials
• Recycling of recoverable materials
• Beneficial reuse of recoverable materials

Contractor Requirements

• Suitably qualified and experienced in the purchase, collection, transport, processing, recycling and/or beneficial reuse of recovered materials
