Health NZ Waitematā - High Voltage (HV) Metering Project Contractor

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Health New Zealand, Northern Region, Waitematā District (the Principal) is seeking to procure the services of a Vector approved High Voltage (HV) Electrical Contractor to deliver the design and build of HV Electrical Site Tariff Metering at the North Shore Hospital (NSH) campus (the Project).

Scope

The Principal is undertaking the design and build of Electrical Site Tariff Metering at the NSH campus. The scope includes:

• Replacement of the site's existing electrical tariff metering, comprising at least 10 Low Voltage (LV) meters and 2 Medium Voltage (MV) meters, with two HV site boundary meters
• Decommissioning and removal of the existing LV and MV meters, which may form part of the scope as a variation, other than the metering at Substation 4, which shall be included
• Modifications to the existing HV entry point at Shea Terrace, part of the NSH owned and maintained Substation 4, to facilitate the new metering, being the primary (dedicated) feed from the local Vector Wairau zone substation
• Establishment of a new Substation 6 along the northern boundary with Carmel College, provisioning for a 1 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA) transformer and including a new HV meter, intercepting the existing secondary backup feed also from the Wairau zone substation
• Establishment of Substation 6 as the new Vector demarcation point for the secondary supply of the NSH site, replacing the current demarcation at Substation 3 by the Whenua Pupuke building

Contractor Requirements

• Vector approved High Voltage (HV) Electrical Contractor
• Although the HV network within the NSH site is privately owned, all works should comply with Vector standards unless authorised by the Principal

Contract Terms and Conditions

Other Health NZ Northern Region hospitals may source the same or similar services during the contract term arising from this procurement. The HV Contractor will be required to provide the same terms and conditions and the same or similar pricing and commercial settings for those services.
