Overview
Cumberland City Council is seeking submissions from appropriately qualified and experienced organisations to provide engagement and co design services and deliver targeted workshops, events and activities for the Permit Plug Play Pilot Program, for which Council is a grant recipient.
About
The NSW Government's Permit/Plug/Play Program 2 (the second round of the initiative) aims to build on the pilot by helping councils make street-based events easier, cheaper, and more frequent to deliver by streamlining approval processes, reforming internal workflows, and investing in enabling infrastructure such as power, water, and traffic management systems. The program seeks to reduce red tape and costs associated with temporary road closures, improve coordination with communities and event organisers, and focus investment in strategic locations, activating local streets as vibrant public spaces that deliver stronger cultural, social, and economic outcomes for communities and local businesses.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Provision of engagement and co design services for the Permit Plug Play Pilot Program
- Delivery of a number of targeted workshops, events and activities as part of the program
- Facilitation of engagements with key stakeholders leading to co design of place-based approaches and public domain upgrades in identified locations
