Gravel & Concrete Crushing - Panel of Suppliers

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Yarriambiack Shire Council is seeking to appoint a panel of suppliers who are appropriately experienced to provide gravel and concrete crushing services as required across the Shire.

Scope

Tenderers may lodge a submission for one, or both, of the required services. The schedule of rates will allow pricing for each service.

Gravel Crushing (Quarries)

• Winning, raising, crushing and stockpiling of gravel at two gravel pits located within the northern area of the Yarriambiack Shire
• Insitu gravel to be won and mixed with a bulldozer (equivalent to a CAT D8 or D9) prior to crushing; direct excavation with an excavator will not be allowed
• Ripping and raising source rock from the nominated area to produce Non-Descript Crushed Rock (NCDR)

Concrete Crushing

• Provision of waste concrete crushing and stockpiling services at the Warracknabeal, Hopetoun and Murtoa Transfer Stations
• Crushing and screening of output material to produce 20mm material stockpiled on site
• Removal of metal material from crushed and screened concrete using high-powered magnets, noting that not all small metal fragments need be removed, provided large quantities of metal debris are not present, as the material is for use as road pavement
• Stockpiling of any steel removed from the concrete separately, with the steel remaining the property of the Council

Contract Terms and Conditions

• Works under this contract are not guaranteed and will be provided on an "as required" basis
• All concrete will be diverted from general waste and stockpiled on-site by Council staff in advance of the contractor being on-site
• Removal of crushed concrete from site does not form part of this contract
