Provision of Large Site Natural Gas Supply

⁠⁠⁠Monash University is seeking proposals for the supply of natural gas to its seven (7) large‑market accounts in  Victoria. The University intends to establish a new contract for an initial one to three‑year term, with up to four  additional one‑year extension options, subject to performance and market conditions.  

The estimated annual consumption is approximately 320,000 GJ, with a detailed breakdown provided in the  following section. 

The University requires a contract that ensures reliable and competitively priced gas supply while supporting  effective cost management over the contract term. In recognition of ongoing volatility in the gas market, the new  agreement is expected to incorporate mechanisms that provide appropriate commercial flexibility.  

These may include provisions that allow the University and the successful supplier to review and adjust pricing in  response to material changes in market conditions, utilise forward‑purchase options where appropriate, and adopt  other mutually agreed approaches that support prudent risk and cost management. 

The successful supplier will be expected to provide a stable and efficient supply arrangement that delivers value  for money, minimises administrative complexity, and requires limited day‑to‑day involvement from Monash  University. 

Proposed Contract Term 

The initial Contract Term will be one (1) to three (3) years, with four (4) additional one‑year extension options (1/3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1). Each extension may be exercised at the University’s sole discretion and is subject to the Supplier’s  performance in delivering the Services. The contract is expected to commence in 1 January 2027.  

The Supplier must deliver the Service continuously during the Contract Term.
