Expressions of interest open for Council-owned units at Quambatook

⁠⁠⁠Gannawarra Shire Council is inviting public Expressions of Interest (EOI) regarding the future use of three Council-owned units at Quambatook.

In the next step of its engagement process regarding the future of the units located at 9-11 Guthrie Street, Quambatook, community groups, organisations and private parties have until 5pm Friday, 24 July to submit an EoI regarding future of this site.

Council acquired the units to supplement home and community-based services offered by its Community Care Services team prior to Council’s decision to cease providing these services in late 2023.

Council sought feedback regarding the future of the units in late 2024 as part of a wider engagement campaign relating to non-core Council-owned assets at Quambatook, with a decision regarding next steps deferred in mid-2025.

The implementation of an EOI and submission process will allow Council to consider a broad range of future opportunities for the site.

Submissions may include proposals involving purchase, lease, community use, transfer or other future use opportunities for the site.

 To assist with the EoI process, Council has developed a guide outlining the submission requirements and process, which is available online by clicking on the “Future of Quambatook units” heading at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/yoursay and from Council’s Kerang Customer Service Centre.

Handwritten submissions prepared in accordance with the guidelines may also be delivered to Council’s Kerang Customer Service Centre.

Council may undertake further discussions or negotiations with shortlisted proponents following assessment of submissions received.

An inspection day will also be held at the units on Friday, 12 June at 11am. Details regarding how to confirm your attendance will be announced during the first week of June.

Any future proposal involving disposal of the property would be subject to the requirements of the Local Government Act 2020, including public notice, community engagement and valuation requirements.
