Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Surf Coast Shire Council invites tenders from suitably qualified Stormwater Pump Suppliers/Installers for pump station works in association with the Karaaf Wetlands Torquay stormwater management. 

Contract Description

This specification provides for the supply of all the necessary management plans, traffic management, plant and materials to complete the construction works associated with the supply and installation of a packaged pump station for the Karaaf Stormwater Diversion Project in Torquay North.

Works within the contract consist primarily of the following:

  •  Site establishment including setting out and services location;
  •  Preparation of environmental and construction management plans;
  •  Supply a packaged stormwater pump station, pump, pipework and fittings;
  •  Coordinate with the Rising Main & Civil Works Contractor with the installation and backfilling of the pump station and inlet and outlet pipe connections;
  •  Supply and installation of the electrical board and pump control system and cabinet, including flow monitoring, alarms and telemetry;
  •  Application to Powercor for and installation of the electrical supply connection;
  •  Work jointly with the Rising Main & Civil Works Contractor during the commissioning of the system;
  •  Miscellaneous works.

Tenderers are to note that the pump station is to be sized such that the electrical board, control system, wet well and all associated pipe and fittings can all support a pump system upgrade to 100L/S discharge with minimal alterations.

The Pump Station site is located adjacent to The Esplanade wetlands in north Torquay. The area is a popular foreshore parkland with extensive walking paths providing beach access and is heavily utilised by the public.

The following provisions apply during construction works:

  •  The general public must be allowed access to paths and beaches at all times;
  •  Safe pedestrian movements around the works area need to be provided at all times;
  •  Communication is to be maintained with Council’s Project Manager in relation to changed conditions, deliveries etc.

Submissions not conforming to these conditions may not be accepted, in the absolute discretion of Council.
