Supply and Delivery of Steel Hull for River Murray Ferries

⁠⁠⁠The Department for Infrastructure and Transport owns and maintains 13 ferries that provide safe and efficient passage for commercial and passenger road vehicles at 12 crossing points along the River Murray in South Australia. The ferries contribute to local communities and their economies by providing lifeline transport connectivity and employment.

The design plans for the new 30 metre ferry hull and deck structure have been prepared by an external consultant and certified by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

The objectives of the project are to:

• the fabrication of one new 30-metre-long steel ferry hull (including flaps); and
• delivery, and assembly if required, to the Morgan Dockyard, in accordance with the Specifications, which includes the design plans for the River Murray ferry hull and flaps, and in compliance with Australian Maritime Safety Authority requirements / National Standard for Commercial Vessels.
