Tender Description
The City of Burnside is undertaking the Kensington Park Grandstand Fire Safety Upgrade as part of its 2026/27 Capital Works Program. This project responds to recommendations from the Burnside Fire Safety Committee.
The upgrade involves the installation of new fire safety infrastructure within the Kensington Park Grandstand, a facility currently leased by Pembroke School and used for both educational and public purposes. Offices and classrooms located beneath the grandstand will be directly impacted by the works. Water mains also need to be replaced, which will require excavation of the adjacent carpark under arborist supervision.
Design works have been completed with support from BCA Engineering, and Development Approval was granted in April 2025. A Tree Protection Plan is in place to ensure minimal impact on surrounding vegetation during construction.
Construction must occur during the Winter school holidays (29th June 2026 - 17th July 2026) to minimise disruption to school operations and public use.
