Hudson Circuit, Meadow Heights Road Reconstruction between Papworth Place and Malmsbury Drive

⁠⁠⁠Council is seeking an experienced and suitable Contractor to undertake the road reconstruction works, upgrade drainage infrastructure, install footpaths where required (based on site inspection), construct traffic islands, implement lighting upgrades, and deliver two wombat crossings with accompanying traffic islands and pedestrian refuges along Hudson Circuit between Papworth Place and Malmsbury Drive in Meadow Heights.

The existing road pavement and kerb are old and deteriorating, as identified by the Asset Management team and requires reconstruction.

The scope of works in this contract includes the following:

•  Reconstruction of full-depth pavement, including new kerb and channel.
•  Upgrading of drainage infrastructure
•  Reinstatement of the existing vehicle crossovers.
•  Reconstruction of the footpath where required, based on site inspection.
•  Reinstatement of existing line marking and signage including minor improvements.
•  Removal of trees with approval from Council's Parks Team. These trees are required to be removed as they will be impacted by the proposed civil works.
•  Construction of two TAC Grant Funded wombat crossings along Hudson Circuit, including accompanying traffic islands and pedestrian refuges.
•  Reconstruction of the traffic island on eastern approach of roundabout at Hudson Circuit and Papworth Place.
•  Reconstruction of intersections and traffic islands at Malmsbury Drive and Hudson Circuit.
•  Reconstruction of traffic island on Malmsbury Drive including pedestrian footpath improvements and associated line marking.
•  Public Lighting upgrades are required for the wombat crossing areas, including improvements to surrounding street lighting. The contractor must engage an accredited Jemena contractor to undertake the construction of the lighting works in accordance with the Jemena approved plan (JEMEE-DW-PL-10083986/01).
•  Modification to the existing infrastructure at bus stops is required, including the provision of a temporary bus stop during construction. The contractor must obtain the necessary permits and approval from the relevant bus companies.
