GC21 RFT for the Construction of a Green Waste Facility, Stockdill Drive, Belconnen.
Background
2.1.1. In January 1990 the ACT Government opened free public garden green waste recycling facilities for residents to drop off their green waste for recycling. The green waste is recycled into vegetative gardening products for sale and reuse back into the ACT community. There are two ACT Government green waste facilities located at Symonston and West Belconnen. Both of these facilities are located within existing ACT Government Resource Management Centres (RMC)
2.1.2. The West Belconnen RMC has been closed to the general public since 2000, with the commercial landfill operation continuing beyond that timeframe before closing in 2020. Despite the broader closure of the West Belconnen RMC, green waste operations have continued at the southwestern end of the West Belconnen RMC. To facilitate Suburban Land Agency’s (SLA) capping of the landfill site the green waste facility will be moved to a location on part of Block 1582.
2.1.3. The green waste facility is located at 135 Stockdill Drive, Holt ACT 2615 (part of Block 1582 – hereafter to be known as the Site).

Notes: Tenderers are invited to attend a site inspection, to be held on 17th April 2026 commencing at 2:00pm. Tenderers are requested to meet at 135 Stockdill Drive, Belconnen ACT. The site inspection is anticipated to take approximately one hour.
