Saltwater Creek Pedestrian Bridge Restoration Works

⁠⁠⁠Bundaberg Regional Council (Council) is located in the Wide Bay Burnett geographical region of Queensland. The resident population of the total local government area is approximately 100,000 people.

The Saltwater Creek Pedestrian Bridge is a heritage listed timber and steel bridge under the care of Bundaberg Regional Council. Council has previously engaged consultant, Bligh Tanner, to undertake structural inspections and condition assessment as part of the Conservation Management Plan. These inspections have identified critical structural deficiencies, and the bridge requires remedial works to ensure its continued lifespan as a heritage structure in the Bundaberg Region. As part of the inspections and recommendations received by Bligh Tanner, the bridge must be closed to pedestrians from July 2026 until remediation works are completed and the bridge passes a further structural inspection post works completion.
