Tender Description

This Tender is invited by the Issuer.

Interaction Designers direct and guide research, design and testing of the scenarios, interaction patterns and interface systems that make up the interaction component with a service. They makes decisions based on the evidence of user needs in pursuit of the best service. They prototype and test products/services. They create user journey maps and assist with and participate in user research. They collaborate and manage stakeholders.

Austrade’s Digital and Technology Services Division is looking for a dynamic, user-oriented interaction designer, with experience leading at the executive level. The division has responsibility for Austrade’s digital infrastructure, platforms and applications that host, support and secure our services.

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic person to be actively involved in the design and delivery of Austrade’s Export Market Development Grant’s (EMDG) Online Portal. EMDG is a program that provides financial assistance to Australian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to market and promote the products and services internationally.

As the interaction designer, you will work with teams to lead the user experience design and ensure that the service is designed for user needs. You will develop designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes, and facilitate co-design, bringing in end users to design with your team. You will help your team build an understanding of the components that make up a service such as people, props, process, front stage and backstage through research.

We are looking for a strong team player who values agile ways of working and Human Centred Design (HCD) by working openly and collaboratively. A core function of the role is to conduct and interpret evidence-based research and work with teams to prioritise tasks and design iterations to test with users.
