Boigu Aerodrome Apron and Esplanade Road Upgrade Project

Torres Strait Island Regional Council invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers for the Boigu Aerodrome Apron and Esplanade Road Upgrade Project as described in more detail in Part 5 – Scope.

Separable Portion A (If ordered) – Boigu Aerodrome Apron Upgrade

The scope of works required under the contract includes, but is not limited to:

•  Establishment of Contractors' Site Facilities;
•  Environmental Management;
•  Erosion and Sediment Control
•  Provision for Traffic Control (including air traffic);
•  Demolition of existing concrete and sealed apron and taxiways;
•  Preparation of Apron and Taxiway Subgrade
•  Installation of vertical membrane;
•  Construction of cement-stabilised gravel pavement subbase;
•  Construction of approximately 2300m2 of concrete apron and taxiway (constructed in two stages to keep airport operational);
•  Construction of a concrete footpath and drain.
•  Clearing and shaping of existing drainage paths (if ordered)
•  Application of PMB emulsion seal at join with the airstrip.
• Separable Portion B (If Ordered) - Boigu Esplanade Road Upgrade

The scope of works required under the contract includes, but is not limited to:

•  Establishment of Contractors' Site Facilities
•  Environmental Management
•  Erosion and Sediment Control
•  Provision for Traffic Control (including air traffic)
•  Demolition of existing croadway
•  Preparation of Subgrade/Earthworks
•  Construction of concrete pavement
•  Relocation of existing services
