Tender Description
The Australian Government is inviting an application via a restricted process to apply to deliver services under the Program 2.5: Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship from February to December 2026.
On 20 October 2024, Lewis’ Continental Kitchen was subject to an arson attack, causing significant damage to the premises. Since the attack, Lewis’ Continental Kitchen has not re-opened a public facing café and has lost a number of major contracts due to changing requirements in the airline catering industry which was their main source of income. The objectives of the grant activity are to:
- implement business recovery strategies and activities to address the significant impacts of the arson attack
- continuously provide Kosher catering services which are culturally authentic and provide religiously compliant food for the Jewish community
- work towards re-opening of a public facing café, providing a place for the Sydney Jewish community to commune, hold functions and feel supported.
The intended outcomes of the grant activity are:
- for Lewis’ Continental Kitchen’s business to recover from the significant impacts of the arson attack and continuously provide Kosher catering services to Jewish communities
- strengthened support for the Jewish community by fostering a sense of belonging, recognition, and inclusion.
