Apply now to be one of 10 Murrumbidgee pharmacies funded for suicide prevention training
Community pharmacies are trusted, accessible places where people often seek help first. Sometimes, you’re the only health professional they see.
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is inviting community pharmacies to take part in the Suicide Prevention in Pharmacy Program.
This funded program supports pharmacy teams to build the confidence and skills to recognise suicidal distress, provide initial support, and connect people to appropriate services.
What the program offers
The program focuses on practical, real-world skills that can be used in everyday pharmacy settings. It supports pharmacies to:
- Recognise signs of suicidal distress
- Respond safely and confidently
- Provide initial support
- Refer people to the right services at the right time
Pharmacies play a vital role in a coordinated, whole-of-community approach to suicide prevention, and this program strengthens that role.
Funding available
MPHN recognises the time and effort required to engage in training and embed learnings into practice.
- $2,000 (GST exclusive) per successful pharmacy
- Funding period: 1 March 2026 – 31 May 2026
- Competitive EOI process
- Funding limited to 10 pharmacies

This opportunity is for community pharmacies that:
- Care about suicide prevention and mental health
- Want to strengthen their team’s confidence and capability
- Are willing to participate in training and implement learnings
Pharmacies of all sizes are encouraged to apply.
EOI evaluation criteria
Applicants will be asked to briefly address:
- Why suicide prevention is important to your pharmacy and community
- How this program will improve your pharmacy’s ability to support people experiencing suicidal distress
Key dates
- EOI closes: 5:00pm, 11 February 2026
- Program starts: 1 March 2026
- Program completed and reporting due: 31 May 2026
