Supply of Plant and Equipment for Emergency Response and Recovery Works

East Gippsland Shire Council (the Principal) is seeking tenders from suitably qualified contractors for the on-request supply of plant, equipment, personnel and materials, unless otherwise specifically stated in this Specification or the Conditions of Contract.

The contract is intended to support two distinct but related service requirements:

1. Response and recovery works arising from Natural Disaster Events; and

2. Urgent operational response works, including but not limited to incidents such as trees over roads, sinkholes, storm damage, or other hazards requiring immediate attention outside normal business hours, including weekends and public holidays, as directed by the Principal.

Services may be required at various locations throughout the East Gippsland municipal area and are to be provided in accordance with the Schedule of Rates tendered in Part 2 – Pricing Schedule.

The contract will establish a panel of contractors for an initial term of three (3) years from the date of award. Council may, at its sole discretion, extend the contract by one (1) further term of up to twenty-four (24) months.

This Specification must be read in conjunction with all Contract documents relating to the Supply of Plant and Equipment for Emergency Response and Recovery Works.

The services may be required in response to, or as a consequence of, events including but not limited to:

• Bushfire;

• Flood;

• Storm or Storm Surge;

• Wind Event;

• Landslide; and

• Earthquake.
