Waste Truck Bins Telematics and Tracking Solution

Council is seeking Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for a telematics and tracking solution system to be installed into the waste collection fleet.

The proposed tracking solution is to include:

• Provide live tracking of the location of waste collection vehicles with progress indicators within the waste truck run.
•  Provide live footage and recording of truck extremities and hopper entrance linked to truck location for evidence in incident investigations and customer complaints.
•  Provide drivers with status updates if the bin collection route changes during the shift and enable them to report issues to team leaders (e.g., contamination in bins or non-presentation of bins). Additionally, it provides analytical data for the kerbside waste usage service.
• Provide tools to enforce fatigue management breaks and truck pre-start checks.
•  Provide tools to manage truck scheduled maintenance and analytical data to facilitate driver mentoring (i.e. fuel usage, rate of acceleration/deceleration, distance backtracked etc).
• The data is to be provided via a web application with a secured, unifying view.
• Recorded footage to be available for extraction for 3 months.

The initial contract term is 5 years.
