Tender Description

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), Agriculture Victoria is preparing for the Livestock Biosecurity Funds Grant Program, commencing in early 2026. This program supports projects that prevent, monitor, and control livestock diseases, benefiting Victorian cattle, sheep, goat, swine, and honeybee industries.

DEECA are seeking individuals interested in joining the Independent Assessor Panel for the Livestock Biosecurity Funds Grant Program. The panel will consist of a chairperson and a minimum of three independent assessors, collectively bringing expertise across the cattle, sheep and goat, swine and honeybee industries. Panel members will play a critical role in reviewing applications, ensuring probity, and contributing to fair and transparent funding decisions.

The panel will be established as an open panel arrangement for up to a three- year term, with assessors generally required for one grant cycle per year. The 2026 grant round is anticipated to commence in March 2026, with two assessors and the chairperson to be engaged for this cycle. Additional assessors may be invited to participate in future grant rounds as needed.

Appointment to the panel does not guarantee the allocation of work, and engagement will occur only where required.
