Culvert Renewal

The Alpine Shire requests tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the renewal of corrugated metal drainage culverts in two locations. Merriang South Road, Merriang and Brownes Lane Rosewhite. The lower halves of the culverts are showing signs of deterioration. To ensure the longevity of these drainage assets, at minimum they will require rust treatment and relining/recoating of the invert with an approved product.

Brief Scope of works

• Obtain NECMA works on waterways permits

• Site establishment at the two locations

• Provision for traffic and environmental management

• Diversion of water flow to obtain access to invert of culverts where required

• Removal of debris and vegetation from culvert inlet, outlet and invert

• Supply details and specifications of culvert repair method and materials.

• Supply and installation of suitable corrosion treatment

• Supply and install of approved culvert lining

• General reinstatement works

Culvert Locations and Sizes

• Brownes Lane, Rosewhite – Latitude: -36.56900 Longitude: 146.83100
• Merriang South Road, Merriang - Latitude: -36.58242 Longitude: 146.69377
• Brownes Lane is a single cell culvert with dimensions of 1.6m dia x 5.5m
• Merriang South Rd is a nine cell culvert with the east most cell containing the worst corrosion on the south side. Each individual cell dimension is 1.6m dia x 14.2m.
