Tender Description

This Tender is invited by the Issuer.

National Archives of Australia (National Archives) is responsible for collecting, managing, preserving, and making available to the public, records of national significance.

In 2023, National Archives established the Digital First Program, which aims to substantially uplift National Archives’ capability to meet its responsibilities for an increasingly digital collection.

Projects under the Digital First Program require specialist technical expertise to review design documentation and associated artefacts across a range of disciplines and provide an independent view of the proposed solutions as they relate to the agency’s existing ICT environment and infrastructure, and its desired future state outcomes.

The external experts will supplement internal staff capability by providing targeted Solution Architecture expertise in the following areas:

  • Microsoft Azure cloud architecture
  • Business Intelligence architecture
  • Microsoft Azure and on-premise Systems Integration architecture
  • Data Architecture
  • Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse
  • Digital Asset Management (DAMs)
  • Payment & Commerce system architecture
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) capabilities
  • Data Storage solution expertise (HPE Allectra Storage Servers 4140 and Scality RING software)

Advice must be high quality and responsive in relation to ICT design and delivery documentation.

The Digital First Program closes on 30 June 2026 with delivery transitioning to business owners. Specialist technical services may be required through to the end of September 2026.
