Provision of registered Childcare Services Falls Creek

Alpine Resorts Victoria (ARV) is responsible for the management of the State’s six alpine resorts including Falls Creek, Mt Buller, Mt Hotham, Mt Baw Baw, Mt Stirling, and Lake Mountain.

At Falls Creek, ARV has historically managed the delivery of a kindergarten and childcare service within the resort, primarily in support of the associated needs of its own staff. However, following a review of this service, ARV has made the decision to cease operations as of February 2026. This decision was made based on an assessment of the financial and workforce challenges faced by the service, and the high-level of compliance requirements associated with an operation of this nature, which is outside of core business for ARV.

ARV appreciates that there may be a dedicated childcare provider interested in assuming this service, who can utilise specialist expertise and purpose-built governance frameworks to deliver a thriving and sustainable operation. ARV is therefore seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified organisations to take on the commercial operations of the Falls Creek Early Childhood Education Centre (as outlined in Part A.2.).

This EOI pertains to the business opportunity to operate this type of service only, and does not involve any associated service contract, payment or other support from ARV. As such, EOI submissions should reflect an independently managed business, capable of delivering and sustaining its own services, compliant with all relevant legislation and childcare practices. The Evaluation Plan should be read in conjunction with the Invitation for Expressions of Interest (‘EOI’).
