Tender Description
Construction of Yanga National Park Regulators 1ES – 5 bay box culvert regulator, and 1AS – 8 bay box culvert regulator.
Project goals
Yanga National Park Regulators is part of the wider SLAM (Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism) Program to improve environmental water flows.
SDLAM seeks to address both current critical water shortages, as well as establish infrastructure and processes which ensure the future environmental and economic sustainability of the Murray-Darling Basin. The objective of the SDLAM Program is to achieve similar or improved environmental outcomes for rivers, wetlands and wildlife using less water as part of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. Project goals are to,
- improve the efficiency of how water is delivered (for example, building and improving water management structures
- deliver more efficient water use practises to save water for the environment
- remove constraints (and physical barriers) that impact the ability to deliver water into the Murray Darling Basin and where it is need most
