SSAC Heat Pump Installation

Stawell is a historical town located within the Northern Grampians Shire, known for its rich heritage and strong community spirit. The Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre has been a significant recreational facility for the residents, providing a vital space for physical activity, social interaction, and community events.

Built in the late 1980s, the Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre (SSAC) was one of country Victoria’s first multi-use aquatic leisure centres that provided a diverse sporting and community leisure complex. Formerly the Stawell Leisure Complex, it has over the years catered for a large range of activities and interests including squash, racquetball, table tennis, volleyball, indoor cricket, futsal, basketball, netball, health and fitness, gymnastics, rock climbing and a large range of aquatic activities. The centre began with squash and a single basketball court and in the 1980s the pools, a second basketball court and additional squash courts were added.

The gas boilers in the facility are to be converted to heat pumps to cater for the energy efficient future and carbon neutral action plans of Northern Grampians Shire Council.
