ABOUT THE TENDER

Helen Mayo South (NT31), formerly Medical School South is an 8-level masonry building within the University's North Terrace campus comprising of lecture theatres, laboratories, tutorial rooms, and offices. The majority of the base building thermal plant are externally roof mounted, with a mix of central thermal plant units and Direct-Expansion (DX) refrigerant-based plant distributed throughout.

Helen Mayo North and Helen Mayo South were historically associated with the old Royal Adelaide Hospital (old RAH) precinct and had base building services dependencies on the precinct in the form of district steam distribution which was utilised in the building. The steam plant was upgraded during separation from the old RAH, however, some Air Handling Units (AHUs) which retained related steam components and steam loop, are in poor condition due to extensive corrosion.

Helen Mayo North and Helen Mayo South are interlinked with connected pipework for shared chilled water capacity, with the intention to provide backup and added chiller capacity for the Helen Mayo South chiller.

SUBMISSIONS

Completed responses must be submitted via the electronic tender box on the portal. Respondents will receive a Successful Submission Receipt timed and dated upon completion. 

CLOSING DATE AND TIME

Tenders close at 4.00pm ACDT on Thursday 18th December 2025 and submissions must be fully received by this time. The University is not bound to accept the lowest priced Tender or all or any part of a Tender and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Tender process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit. Staff of the University are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the proposal. Late, verbal or emailed proposals will not be accepted.
