Construction of Traralgon Western Distribution Main

This is a Major Works Contract for the construction of a 5.15 km water distribution main around the western edge of Traralgon, to be installed through combination of open trench excavation and trenchless techniques. The size of the new distribution main will vary from 300 mm to a 750 mm internal diameter bore sleeved in DN1200 RC encasing pipe.

The material for the larger section (DN750) of the main is mainly Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Mild Steel Cement Lined (MSCL), with the smaller section of the main (DN300) to use High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE).

The Contract Sum shall be full compensation for the complete construction of the works including all required air and scour valves, construction plant, temporary works, commissioning, defects and liability for the works for the specified period, any remedial works and the replacement of any defective works. Extra monies will be paid only for work undertaken in accordance with Variation Orders issued in writing by the Superintendent.

The Contract Sum is not subject to Rise and fall or Price Variation, nor shall it be subject to variation due to changes in foreign exchange rates. The Contract Sum is inclusive of GST.

Notes: A non-mandatory Tender Information session will be held at the corner of Swallow Grove and Old Melbourne Road in Traralgon at 10am on Tuesday 25 November 2025. All participants will need to register on the day.
