Derwent Valley Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the purchase and future development of Lot 5, The Avenue, New Norfolk. Proposals should demonstrate intended use of the site, alignment with planning requirements, and potential community benefits. This EOI process is also subject to Section 178 of the Local Government Act 1993, which requires Council to advertise the proposed sale and allow time for public submissions or objections.

Conditions of Sale

• Restoration of Frascati House to an operational and structurally sound standard;
• All works to be undertaken in accordance with Heritage Tasmania guidance and relevant statutory requirements;
• Any proposed use or development to be sympathetic to the heritage character of the building and the surrounding precinct;
• Continued recognition of the Community Garden area and its value to the local community.

Property Overview

A significant parcel of land located in the heart of the historic Willow Court Precinct. The property is home to Frascati House, a heritage-listed building of local historical and architectural importance, situated alongside the New Norfolk Community Garden.
