Construction of Chowilla Game Reserve Infrastructure

The South Australia Constraints Measures (Constraints) Project aims to remove the operational and physical constraints to the delivery of high flows up to 80 GL/day within the River Murray. Higher environmental flows within the River Murray in South Australia under the Basin Plan provide environmental benefits but pose inundation risks to low lying land and infrastructure on the floodplain. The Project at Chowilla Game Reserve aims to improve floodplain connectivity and provide greater environmental benefits from enhanced flows along the River Murray in South Australia.

The proposed construction includes works at 10 locations:

· 5 multi cell box culvert crossing structures of varying sizes to replace existing structures

· 5 sheet pile regulating structures to replace existing temporary earthen embankments.
