Road and Drainage Design - Steele Street, Chewton

The objectives of the services is to engage a suitably qualified consultant to deliver detailed design services for road and drainage infrastructure upgrades and drainage analysis across three priority sites within Mount Alexander Shire: Steele Street (Chewton), Farran Street (Castlemaine), and the Wesley Hill Market Precinct.

These sites have been identified for critical improvements to stormwater management and associated civil infrastructure to address existing drainage limitations, reduce localised flooding, and support safe and sustainable community use. In addition to drainage upgrades, the Steele Street site will include road design works to improve surface conditions, and integration with surrounding residential areas.

The successful consultant will be responsible for preparing comprehensive design documentation suitable for construction tendering, including site investigations, cultural assessments, environmental reports, concept development, detailed design, and coordination with relevant authorities. Each site presents unique challenges which must be carefully considered to ensure technically sound, context-sensitive, and community-aligned outcomes.

All design work shall be approved by a registered civil engineer.
