Gellibrand Recreation Reserve Netball Courts Lighting Upgrade

This project proposes to replace the existing netball court lighting infrastructure in Gellibrand Recreation Reserve Netball Courts including lighting poles and metal halide luminaires with a new 4 pole lighting configuration with LED lighting fixtures to provide netball match standard netball (200 lux) lighting. The new lighting system is to comply with Australian Standards in relation to match standard netball sports lighting and spill levels. The new lighting fixtures to include dimmable lighting options (100 lux for training and 200 lux for matches) and connection to the existing remote operation system (Control Link).

A final lighting design which confirms compliance with Australian Standards for Sports Lighting (AS 2560.2:2021 – Part 2 Specific Applications – section 2.9 netball – 200 lux) for maintained average horizontal illuminance, minimum horizontal uniformities and maximum glare must be provided to Council, for Council and Sport and Recreation Victoria approval. The maximum spill levels must be in accordance with the Australian Standard AS 4282:2019, Control of obtrusive effects of outdoor lighting, which must be provided with the lighting design. The new LED lighting system must be covered by a 10-year product assurance and warranty program guaranteeing light levels as per the design which includes parts/materials and labour to maintain operation of the new lighting system.

At completion of the works the contractor must provide Council with As-Built plans and lighting lux report.
