Garden of No Distant Place (GNDP) & Reflections Rectifications Construction Services

Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) would like to invite you to submit a response encompassing the services required to undertake and successfully complete the above service as detailed in the tender documentation.

SMCT is seeking a response for these works via Buying for Victoria (Tenders Vic) website.

A MANDATORY site visit is scheduled to take place on the Thursday 13th of November 2025 at 9.30 AM. Please meet at RECEPTION, First Floor, Clarence Reardon Centre, Springvale Botanical Cemetery. Tender briefing and site inspection contact: Maureen Cian.

Please note that failure to attend MANDATORY site visit will deem any Tender submissions void.

All questions must be submitted by 2pm Monday 24th November 2025 and will be responded to no later than 4.00pm Friday 28th November 2025.

Note: Attached is a VPS Contract which needs to be reviewed as part of the submission process.

Purpose of RFT and background 

This RFT is for the supply of Construction Works of:

Project 1: Garden of No Distant Place Development (GNDP) – in accordance with drawings and specifications:

•  Supply and installation of new totem banks
•  Supply and installation of new garden beds
•  Supply and installation of pegging for Cremated Remains (CR) memorial positions
•  Supply and installation of memorial seating
•  Supply and installation of promenade memorial niche walls
•  Supply and installation of new drainage and irrigation infrastructure
•  Refurbishment of existing garden bed

Project 2: Reflections Rectification – in accordance with drawings and specifications:

•  Supply and installation of new stone cladding to existing niche & grave walls and memorial seating
•  Supply and installation of new niche & grave walls
•  Supply and installation of grave wall number tags
•  Supply and installation of temporary CR cover plates to niche wall
•  Removal of existing wall grave pegging and installation of new pegging for wall grave positions
•  Removal and disposal of existing succulent garden and topsoil
•  Supply and install of new planting and topsoil
•  Supply and installation of pegging for CR memorial positions
•  Remove and divert underground services as documented
•  Supply and installation of drainage and irrigation infrastructure
•  Supply and installation of amenities including adornment signs and water tap

A briefing session will be held at 600 Princes Hwy, Springvale, Victoria, Australia, 3171 on 13 November 2025 09:30 am.
