Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $17 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $170 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Avocado biosecurity capacity building (AV25012).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
- Extend diagnostic capacity to more high priority pests and pathogens for the avocado industry,
- Maintain expertise and response-readiness for exotic pests and pathogens that already have diagnostic protocols,
- Improve plant health for new orchards through provision of fit-for-purpose diagnostic and scientific support for ANVAS, particularly for avocado sunblotch viroid; and to
- Provide scientifically based pathology support and act as source of expert advice on all matters relating to avocado plant biosecurity and market access.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
