Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $17 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $170 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Parasitoid Alternatives to Fall Armyworm Sustainable Management (VG26002).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Improve sustainability and resilience of fall armyworm management in sweet corn through the use of parasitoids, lowering input costs and mitigating resistance development
• Development and validation of effective biological control strategies for fall armyworm, including the practical deployment of egg parasitoids (e.g. Telenomus remus), using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach
• Increased availability of biological tools for fall armyworm by establishing viable commercialisation pathways to support reliable supply and industry access to parasitoid-based products
• Strengthened industry capability through enhanced collaboration, knowledge sharing, and increased awareness and adoption among growers and agronomists of fall armyworm management strategies
