Expressions of interest open for major event partnership

Council is inviting submissions from organisations interested in partnering on a major community event in 2026.

The aim of the 2026 Major Event Partnership is to deliver an event that will drive economic development, enhance social wellbeing and increase tourist visitation.

The initiative also supports Council 2044 vision for Mount Barker district to be the most liveable region in South Australia.

Selection criteria

Proposals will be assessed against the following criteria:

• strategic alignment and community engagement;
• economic benefit;
• brand awareness and marketing; and
• risk and capability.

Priority will be given to event concepts that:

• run over multiple days to increase overnight visitation and support local businesses; and
• support accessibility and inclusivity.
