Regional PRV Renewals 2025-2027

Wellington Water relies on a large network of Pressure Control Valves/Pressure Reducing Valves used to manage the potable water network. The PRVs control the amount of pressure entering a pressure zone from another zone. The PRVs are critical for the management of our reticulation network and reducing leakage. It can be disastrous when they fail, therefore it is important that we plan for their replacement ahead of time.

We are looking to replace approximately 20 PRVs across the region. Some are located in road reserve, and some are located at our reservoir or pump station sites. Scope of work involves sites investigation to measure up and scope the work required. Supply and install of a new PRV and any other works required at the site to bring it to an acceptable standard including but not limited to new valves, pipe spools, pipe bends, thrust blocks, chambers, reducers, lids, hatches. The scope also includes a large amount of investigation, recording information, and drafting.
