2021/22 Sf Balwyn High School – Theatre Upgrade – Construction Works

Project Summary

The Victorian School Building Authority is intending to release a Request for Tender in November 2025 for the extension and upgrade to the theatre at Balwyn High School located at Buchanan Avenue, North Balwyn 3104.

The project includes extension of the theatre, increasing the tiered seating area, removal of precast concrete panels, alteration to structural steel, replacing theatre seating and upgrading the AV system.

The project will require very good knowledge and experience in dealing with precast concrete construction, detailed prefabricated structural steel trusses, theatre fit out and general building upgrades. The construction zone will be an island area within a live school environment.

All respondents will need to have a current CSR Registration under the category New Commercial Construction Prequalification level amount no less than $4,500,000.

A separate Request for Tender (RFT) will be issued. It is expected that approximately four tenderers will be invited. The VSBA will decide on which firms are to be invited to submit a tender, based on the firm’s experience, capability, and capacity to undertake the work in the required timeframe, and past performance.
