The Shire of Boddington invites expressions of interest for the roles of Independent Presiding Member and Independent Deputy Presiding Member of the Shire’s Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.
About the Committee
The Committee plays a key role in supporting Council’s commitment to sound financial management and risk oversight. It provides independent advice on financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, and compliance with the Local Government Act 1995 (WA).
Who Should Apply?
To be considered for either of the independent positions, you should be able to demonstrate:
- A genuine interest in local government and community governance,
- Some knowledge or experience in financial reporting, risk management and audit principles (internal and external),
- Strong communication skills.
To be eligible as an Independent Member, applicants must meet these criteria:
- Must not be employed by the Shire of Boddington,
- Must not be an elected member of the Shire of Boddington or any other local government.
What the Shire Offers
A sitting fee of up to $200 per meeting applies, along with reimbursement for travel and other approved expenses. This is a great opportunity to support your community and gain valuable governance experience.
