Tender Description
GMCT is seeking an experienced contractor to construct new inventory product for Court of Tranquility in Altona Memorial Park.
Only contractors with a CM3 qualification will be considered. GMCT is subject to the requirements of PDACMA (1994) and is therefore seeking responses from members of the VicRoads Prequal Panel and/or Construction Supplier Register (CSR). In accordance with PDACMA, GMCT will issue a contract in the form of AS2124. Submissions from other suitably qualified and experienced suppliers will also be considered.
PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (GMCT) wishes to engage a suitably qualified Contractor to undertake the works associated with the construction of grave infrastructure at Altona Memorial Park, Court of Tranquility section, in accordance with the requirements of this document and as shown in the tender documentation plans included as Attachment A.
PROGRAM OF WORKS
The Contractor shall supply a Program of Works to GMCT’s Project Manager within 14 days of acceptance of the tender. The Program of Works shall show critical dates, inspections, hold points and methods for staging works to cause minimum disruption.
This shall include, but not be limited to:
• Approval of all samples outlined above
• Set out completed
• Demolition/set out items marked or tagged (but prior to removal)
• Commencement of earth moving
• Commencement of road paving (when repair required)
• Set out of grave concrete beams prior to installation (2m²)
• Installation of concrete footings for the Signage, Drinking Fountains, Vase Basket and Bin Stand (2m²)
• One sample of temporary ID tags prior to proceeding with the remaining numbering
• Installation of one each (1 no. each) of furniture items
• All planting materials shall be immediately inspected by the Landscape Architect or the Project Manager upon delivery to the site. Planting materials that are rejected shall be returned to the supplier on the same day/truck whichever is possible.
• Garden bed preparation. The Contractor shall prepare an area of 4m2 for inspection by the Landscape Architect or Project Manager, prior to planting and/or mulching.
• Planting set-out
• Tree planting
• Other new Hold Points as separately directed by the Project Manager.

A briefing session will be held at 2-14 Dohertys Road, Altona North, VIC, Australia, 3025 on 16 October 2025 10:00 am.
Notes: Please meet at main reception at 10am.
A site visit is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid.
Attendance at the briefing is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid.
