ANARE Shed Development Falls Creek

Falls Creek Alpine Resort is excited to release the - Lakeside Redevelopment tender. This project involves upgrading and redevelopment of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition (ANARE) building located on the Rocky Valley Dam foreshore in Falls Creek.

The project will be executed over two summer construction periods, between December 2025 to May 2026 and October 2026 to April 2027. The project must be completed and the building handed over by no later than 30th April 2027. Due to the Declared Snow Season, no construction activities can take place between the 31st May and the 15th October each year.

Scope:

The scope for the project involves the upgrade and restoration of the existing Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition (ANARE) building to provide future facilities and amenities for visitors to the trail head for the Falls to Hotham Alpine Crossing, lake users and winter users.

This contract involves the following key scopes

• Preparation of construction OHS documentation
• Establishment of construction site to delineate works from public
• Demolition works to the existing building as per Architectural drawings including any temporary works
• Structural modification of existing building as per Architectural Design Drawings and Specifications Package
• Fitout of building as per Architectural Design Drawings and Specifications package
• Construction of external details as outlined in Architectural Design Drawings and specifications package
• Construction of northern 50m post and panel retaining wall (refer civil design package) adjacent to building including associate earthworks to prepare and backfill behind wall
• Construction of 60m V drains on north and south side of building as shown in Civil design package.
• Installation building outfall drainage beneath deck including 16m DN375 RCP pipe and endwall/pits
• Construction of External Shelter (provisional item)
