Established in 1932, the Bowling Club has a long-standing history as a community sports facility. The club's sole bowling green was originally constructed with natural turf. In 2011, to improve durability and reduce maintenance, the natural turf was upgraded to synthetic turf. Now, 14 years later, the synthetic surface has reached the end of its useful life and is due for renewal. This project seeks to address the need for a modern, high-quality playing surface that meets current standards and ensures continued use for years to come.

Scope:

This Standard specifies requirements for flat green bowls surfaces, in particular synthetic surfaces. The requirements apply to the complete installation including the synthetic surface, base, sub-base, sub-grade and drainage system.
