Tender Description
Lung Foundation Australia is pleased to invite applications for the Lung Foundation Australia Ellen Yates Memorial Grant-in-Aid for Lung Cancer Research valued at $30,000 over one (1) year. This award aims to support research that improves outcomes for people living with lung cancer.
The award has been made possible through the generous support and ongoing fundraising from Elizabeth Yates, and is dedicated in loving memory of Ellen Yates, her mother, who sadly lost her battle to lung cancer in 2015.
It is open to any health care professional or scientist planning to undertake a research project on lung cancer or other related thoracic cancers including Mesothelioma, Thymomas, mediastinal tumours and chest wall tumors. The research can relate to any aspect of lung cancer research including understanding the molecular basis of disease, its diagnosis, treatment, improved management and care, and evaluation of palliative strategies for advanced stage of disease.
Health professionals including nurses and allied health professionals, as well as early to mid-career researchers with a special interest in lung cancer and/or other thoracic cancers are invited to apply. Grant funding will commence post-notification in Q1 2026. Grant funds are to be used to support proof-of-concept or pilot research and may supplement other sources of research funding – see Terms and Conditions for more information.
Projects which further focus on priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, are also highly encouraged.
Priority will be given to proposals likely to attract additional funding from other sources.
