Greenvale Lane Footbridge and Shared Path Design and Construct

Greenvale Lane is an 80km/h road and is part of Mansfield Heavy Vehicle Alternative Route. It connects two arterial roads (Mt Buller Road and Mansfield-Whitfield via Mt Battery Road). The road abuts Mansfield Agricultural Show Grounds, Mansfield Holiday Parks and other hotels and future developments including childcare centre. The road has a narrow vehicular bridge over Ford Creek with no provision for pedestrians.

The existing road bridge cannot accommodate pedestrians and pedestrians must use the road bridge to cross Ford Creek which poses a significant safety risk. There is an existing shared path North and South of this bridge that needs to be extended towards the bridge.

The proposed footbridge is to be 25.6m long and missing shared path link along Greenvale is 375m. The project aims to create a link between the existing shared paths with a pedestrian bridge to improve the pedestrian safety and access to Mansfield Township. The route has also been identified as a priority route in Mansfield Shared Path and Footpath Strategy 2022.

Partnear was engaged to prepare the concept design and schedule of quantities. The next stage of the project is to appoint a contractor to undertake detailed design and construction. Council has now received the preliminary designs and schedule of quantities, The scope of works comprises:
