Greater Western Water (GWW) intends to release an Express of Interest in October 2025 for the construction only works of Holden Tanks Water Pumping Station & Transfer Mains located at Plumpton area with a water transfer main pipe to Sunbury area at GWW’s Bald Hill Tanks. Project is being fully designed to GWW and Melbourne Water Standards
The preliminary scope of works required for the project includes, but not limited to:
1. DN 900 (OD972 MSCL) Pipeline (approximately 10.7 km) from the proposed Holden Tanks site (1050 Melton Highway) to Bald Hill Tanks site (80 Moore Road):
- The pipeline will pass through private properties, road reserves and road crossings, including Calder Freeway.
- Cathodic protection and trenchless sections will be required
2. Water Pumping Station and associated works:
- Building
- Pump room
- Switch room
- Control room
- Amenities Room
- Concrete slab, steel frame, concrete pre-cast panels, steel frame, roof, doors
- Surge vessels
- Genset / substation compound
- Inlet pipework to connect to Melbourne Water future assets
- Access road from Melton Highway
- Procure and install Mechanical & Electrical equipment such as Pumps, switchboards, Crane, Power supply etc.. Also it will include SCADA and IT elements
- All other relevant works (i.e. earthworks, security, fencing, drainage, landscaping etc.)
Note: Contractors with demonstrated experience in constructing Water Pumping Stations and water transfer main of similar pipe size will be a mandatory requirement. This will include reference checks and other technical competency assurance checks.
