Project goals

1. The aim of this engagement is to enable the construction of an access roadway including a crossing of the Towamba River for the Ridges Plantation in the Towamba locality.

2. The primary objectives of this project are:

a. To provide safe, efficient, and reliable all-weather access for Restricted Access Vehicles (RAV) including 25m B-Double log haulage vehicles and vehicles carrying heavy plant/equipment between Ridges Plantation and the FCNSW road network in the Towamba State Forest.

b. To deliver the required infrastructure on time to enable harvesting to commence in FY27, and within the approved budget.

c. To ensure all works are completed in compliance with relevant Australian standards, environmental regulations, safety legislation, and FCNSW policies.

d. To minimise disruption to the local community, Aboriginal heritage and the environment.

Scope

Forestry Corporation of NSW (FCNSW) requires certain, all-weather, and cost-effective access to its Ridges Plantation to facilitate harvesting operations scheduled to commence in FY27. The plantation holds an estimated 260K tonnes of timber.

This project involves the construction of a new access route connecting Ridges Plantation to the FCNSW road network in the Towamba State Forest.

The key components of the project include:

  1. construction of a new causeway crossing over the Towamba River,
  2. construction of a new access road (realigned Logan Road and new road that branches off Logan Road) through the "Elmgrove" property, and
  3. construction of an upgraded, perpendicular crossing over the public Pericoe Road to connect and extend the new road to the FCNSW road network within the Towamba State Forest.

We are seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) Contractor to manage and deliver the project from final design through to construction completion and handover.
