Tender Description

The Woolshed at Jondaryan was designed by station manager James Charles White and constructed between 1859 and 1861. The ‘T-shaped’ shed was built to hold up to 3,000 sheep and stands for 52 sheers within the east and west wings. As an outstanding example of 19th century industrial design, the Woolshed stands as a remarkable achievement in the efficiency for the shearing large numbers of sheep, without compromising the quality of the wool. The Woolshed was listed on the Queensland Heritage Register on 21st October 1992 due to its rich historical and cultural significance. Toowoomba Regional Council now own and operate the wider facility encompassing a variety of historical building and exhibitions as a visitor attraction, accommodation and function centre.

Offerors must attend the mandatory site meeting at Jondaryan Woolshed, 264 Jondaryan Evanslea Road, Jondaryan QLD 4403 at 10.30am, Tuesday 23rd September 2025 for their offer to be considered conforming. RSVP by Monday, 15th September 2025 to financialservicescontracting@tr.qld.gov.au.
